Anne Frank and her family stayed in hiding for approximately two years. The residents of the Secret Annex were Anne, Margot, Edith, and Otto Frank, Peter, Mr. and Mrs. Van Daan, and Mr. Dussel. Living in the Annex was a troubling task for the reason that every week day, there was no moving around, using the bathroom, or even talking. There was little that they could do, however; Anne managed to pass the time by writing in her journal, studying, and reading.
